O. Joseph Dean, Jr., M.D., F.A.C.S.

Urologist, Dr. Joseph Dean, earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA, and served his internship at St Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Youngstown, OH. He did further training as a resident in surgery at Howard University Hospital, Washington, DC, and completed his residency in urology at Tulane University Medical Center in New Orleans, where he remained for additional post-graduate training in kidney transplantation.

Dr. Dean has received special training in adult and pediatric urology, kidney transplantation, vascular access for hemodialysis and peritoneal access for peritoneal dialysis. Dr. Dean has served as an Assistant Professor of Urology and Surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine and as an Assistant Professor of Urology at Tulane University Medical Center. He has been in private practice for over 11 years.

Dr. Dean is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the Founder and Moderator of the East Texas Chapter of US, TOO, the prostate cancer support group, and is active in prostate cancer awareness across Texas. He is also the Founder and Moderator of the Interstitial Cystitis Support Group, East Texas Chapter.
